Happy New Year! I hope everybody had a merry Christmas and has had a wonderful start to 2017. This marks our 19th year in business, creating lifetime memories since 1998! Thank you to our wonderful, unique, and very special group of customers through whom we have created the Red Bluff experience. It has been a while since I have written any updates and I thought I would start a new tradition with a State of The Empire Address. I hope to share some insight into our operation with some of the statistics and indicators I have been looking at for the past 18 years to assess the success of the various seasons/species which we hunt.

We hunted a total of 560 man days for deer season and took 208 shots resulting in the harvest of 169 deer. Kody trailed 106 deer and found 56! Of the 169 deer, 118 were antlered and 51 were antlerless. Our customers killed 12 first deer, 6 first velvet bucks, 2 first bucks, and 7 personal bests. Thirty-two percent (32%) of our antlered harvest consisted of adult bucks (2.5 years +) and of these adults, seventy-five percent (75%) had antler spreads of 15"+. For hogs, we killed 50 with 70 shots. Kody trailed 14 of these and found 5. Customers killed 12 first hogs and 3 personal bests. Ten of the hogs weighed 150#+ and 4 of these weighed 200#+. Turkey hunters killed 4 first turkeys. Of the 12 alligators harvested, 10 were first time hunters. Two of the alligators weighed in excess of 400#!

For the upcoming year, things look great. We finallly got some rain which gave us some much needed moisture for the food plots. The turkeys are already gobbling and the hens are out in the green fields. Hogs are at every feeder and we had some magnificent bucks that survived the season. We have strived to create a quality experience and look forward to another year of creating lifetime memories! Thank you for business and continued support. I look forward to your return trip.
