2011 Opening Day

08/14/2011

We are ready for another season opener! The guys have worked in weather that has been the hottest on record to whip the land back into shape. Despite a sustained drought, violent windstorms, thunderstorms, and even hail, the animals appear to be in great shape, plentiful, and eager to eat up as much $7/bushel corn as we can feed them!! Mr. Henry has reported seeing plenty of hogs in the swamp and I have seen plenty of nice bucks while corning. I believe I have seen more fawns this spring than ever before. That is a very encouraging sign! The children start school this coming week and Terri has been working at the University of South Carolina's Salk Campus since January. That leaves me in charge of the office. I have upgraded the computer equipment and converted to all MAC devices-iMAC, MAC Pro laptop, iPad, iPhone. I have also taken over the administration of the website. I hope we can stay better connected to our friends and clients and provide a higher level of service. We have updated our web site, created a Red Bluff Lodge Facebook page (www.facebook.com/redblufflodge), opened a Red Bluff Lodge YouTube page (www.youtube.com/redblufflodge), and upgraded our video equipment in order to capture priceless moments and share them!

Additionally, we were awarded a grant from the National Shooting Sports Foundation to revitalize our shooting sports end which includes upgrading the current range capabilities and advertising our multiple firearms-related activities, i.e. gunsmithing, firearms training, and gun and ammunition sales. Now, we have 3 rifle ranges, a shotgun range, and a pistol range!

The first group of hunters for the season just showed up from New York, so I'll end this post and talk to you later. Thank you for your business and support!!
